Mercian Conference 2023 - Speaker Support Session 1

Monday, March 27, 2023 - 15:00 to 16:00

Come along and find out more about how to become a speaker at this year's Mercian Collaboration Conference.

The 2023 conference will take place in early September, and an open call for speakers will be annouced shortly.

As in previous years, the conference team are keen to attract colleagues from across the region who have limited or no prior experience of speaking at events.
These interactive sessions will guide you through the process of writing and submitting a session proposal, as well as offering advice and tips on how to be a more confident first-time speaker.

During these relaxed and informative sessions, Conference Group members will unpack the event theme, suggesting ways to relate it back to your own library experiences. Attendees will also be encouraged to ask questions, share ideas or raise any concerns they might have in becoming a speaker at the Collaboration’s Conference.

Audience: All library staff with an interest in becoming a conference speaker.  We are keen to attract those with limited experience / confidence in presenting at events. Note: delegates need only attend one of the speaker support events, as the content will be repeated.

Format: These support sessions will comprise a mix of short talks, and discussions with some interactive elements.

Recording & Materials: These sessions will not be recorded. Materials and notes from the events will be made available to attendees afterwards.

More Information: For more information on these events, contact the Conference Group via email:
