Conference 2022
This section provides access to the key information around the Mercian Collaboration's 2022 academic libraries conference, to be held 6-7th September 2022 as an online event. The conference's Twitter hashtag is #Mercian22
Bookings are now closed (6th Sept 2022)
Theme
The last few years have seen radical shifts in the way library staff have interacted, serviced and met with our user communities. While technology and the changes in on-campus activities may have helped in facilitating and meeting their needs – the big question of how well we have truly engaged with every member of our communities is a big one. Have we as academic libraries reached a point where we need to redefine what we mean, seek to achieve and really want in terms of patron community engagement?
Hence for the 2022 conference our title and core theme is: Redefining Engagement: Connections, Collections, and Communities
Delegate Eligibility
Attendance at the Mercian Conference is normally open only to attendance by library staff from Mercian member organisations, and representatives of Platinum and Gold level corporate sponsors.
However, this year once again the organising committee would like to invite academic library staff from across the UK to speak and attend too. See Delegate Information for more details and to register to attend.
Code of Conduct
All attendees should conduct themselves as they would in a professional, workplace environment. Session hosts are empowered to mute or remove any participants breaching these expectations during the event. Please see our Online Events Etiquette guidance for more details.

All materials will be online only/email, to minimise paper waste. Delegates wanting a reminder of the sessions they are booked in for, should contact the Conference Team.
