At long last, book your place for this year’s must attend destination midlands, academic-libraries conference!

Summer might be here, with no sign of retreating, but coming over the horizon isn’t another blisteringly hot day, but the refreshing intellectual breeze of this year’s Mercian Collaboration Conference (Tue 11th September). Booking for delegate places has finally opened to all member universities’ library staff, and will continue through until early August. Don’t worry: there’s plenty of time to secure a spot, but as space is limited to 100 delegates, it is recommended you don’t delay and book today!

Programme details and online booking.

This year’s theme, New to You! brought a record number of session proposals and workshops, making choosing the most representative and exciting topic range even more challenging than last year for the Conference Group’s members. For the first time, the event is also hosting a range of brand representatives from various library-related commercial organisations too, so there’ll be opportunities to catch up on their latest products and services as well. Not to mention an opportunity to meet with representatives from most of the Mercian’s active special interest groups, who’ll be able to tell you more about their plans for the forthcoming academic session.

What’s more, the conference is being held in the brand new, purpose-built University of Birmingham conference centre. This means delegates can look forward to experiencing a brand new facility, alongside sharing experiences and insights with colleagues and friends old and new.

Thanks to the generosity of a range of the sponsoring organisations and that of the Directors Board too, this year’s conference is once again free to Mercian delegates. A day’s regionally focussed academic library conference, in splendid surroundings with delicious catering to hand: what more could you ask for this 11th September?
